ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed met President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday and discussed the current political situation in the country.
Talking to Daily Times after the meeting, Rasheed said he ahad advised the Pakistan People’s Party’s government not to indulge in the politics of confrontation especially in Punjab. He said the next three months were very important in the politics of the country.
To a question about his role in the political affairs he said his party has no representation in parliament hence it did not have a significant role to play in the current scenario.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani called on President Zardari at the Presidency and discussed issues related to the province. The chief minister briefed the president on the socio-political and economic situation of the province and apprised him of developments including the rehabilitation activities in the earthquake-affected areas of Balochistan.
The chief minister also called on Chief of the Air Staff Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed at air headquarters. The two discussed matters pertaining to professional and mutual interests.
