A partial strike was observed in several parts of Sindh on the call of the Sindh National Front (SNF) against the arrest of SNF Chairman Mumtaz Bhutto on Sunday, a private TV channel reported.
The channel said five people were held in a crackdown against SNF activists in Thatta. A shutter-down strike was observed in Ghotki and Obaro while a partial strike was observed in Shikarpur and Jacobabad. Two people were injured in a clash with police in Ratodero. Police baton charged SNF workers on National Highway in Daharki and arrested 10 people.
Another TV channel reported that Rangers Major Waqar Ahmad was injured during clashes in Kandhkot and Shikarpur, while police arrested 22 demonstrators from various parts of Sindh. In Larkana, police dispersed SNF workers trying to force traders to shut down shops.
